Die Promotion dient dem Nachweis der Befähigung zu vertiefter wissenschaftlicher Arbeit.
Die Habilitation ist die höchstrangigste Hochschulprüfung. Mit ihr wird die Lehrbefähigung in einem wissenschaftlichen Fach festgestellt.
